Some hidden costs of a traditional "free" campus tour

In most cases, Nylie does charge a fee for LiveCampusTours. Andy yes, granted, traditional college tours are usually free of charge - but they do come with a price.

Here are some overlooked expenses of on-campus touring -- each of which costs more than a single Nylie tour:

A ride-share from Bradley Aiport to (sorta) nearby UMass-Amherst

Two checked bags on United (actual seat sold separately)

Sandwiches with mom and dad at the airport

airport menu

Prefer the bus? Round-trip from Chicago to Madison (the below is just one way!)

Driving? Be careful where you park

Parking ticket

Staying overnight?

How about some swag at the campus bookstore?

So our tours aren't free (unless you qualify for a need-based "tourship"). But it's important to note that you're actually paying a pretty big sum to tour on-campus...

COVID-19 Update

Since our virtual tours are live and on location, prospective guides need to be living on or near campus to begin working. If you are not returning to school this fall, you are still welcome to sign up now and activate your schedule when you return - and we hope that's soon! We urge all guides to follow all local guidance to prevent the spread of the virus.
